What better way to spend your day than with activities that bring synergy between your physical and mental wellbeing? That’s exactly what the 2,500 PaPaZao (趴趴走) participants were ready for as they gathered along Sentosa Boardwalk, prepared to embark on a journey that united an active body and an active mind!
On 14th July 2024, FirstCom Academy collaborated with renowned local director Jack Neo to celebrate PaPaZao (趴趴走)’s second anniversary at Sentosa’s Siloso Beach. This is the second consecutive year that FirstCom Academy has been named the official education partner for this meaningful event.
Minister of Health Mr Ong Ye Kung, made a special appearance to cheer them on before the event started, and everyone was thrilled, all trying to get a picture with the Minister. With bodies warmed up and hearts filled with excitement, participants began their leisurely walk towards Siloso Beach.
As participants PaPaZao-ed through iconic scenic spots on their walk, they beamed with joy, basking in the natural beauty alongside family and friends. It was a refreshing sight as many seniors were spotted with selfie sticks, busy capturing this beautiful moment!
The event provided participants a platform to flaunt their creativity by utilising new digital skills acquired in a recent upskilling course conducted by FirstCom Academy. With every step (and every shot), they moved closer to producing their own short video encapsulating the essence of Sentosa and the PaPaZao (趴趴走) event.
Following the success of last year’s contests, this year’s edition saw even more enthusiastic responses! With four different contests to partake in, it allowed participants more room for creative output. The contests included photo taking using their smartphones, photo editing using AI tools and a TikTok contest that had participants dancing to the PaPaZao (趴趴走) theme song!
It was heartwarming to see participants share their knowledge and encourage their peers even though everyone had their eyes set on the amazing lineup of prizes that was worth over $60k. Talk about an incentive for being active!
Though the finish line was in sight, the day was far from over. A lineup of activities and performances by local celebrities and influencers such as Henry Thia, Terence Cao, and Collin Chee awaited them. Nobody showed signs of fatigue as they continued to party with glee, enjoying the singing and dancing performances on stage. Participants also had the chance to snap photos with their favourite celebrities!
Every performance needed an encore, and this year’s encore was the eagerly awaited lucky draw! With prizes ranging from the evoGuard Probiotics Vinyl Cleaner and Dolphin Vacuum Cleaner to home renovation packages and interactive touchscreen displays from Swosh, there was something for everyone! FirstCom Academy was also glad to sponsor the top prize which was a 4D3N trip on Genting Dream Cruise worth over $3500. Every winner walked away with a coveted prize and a hearty smile.
As the event drew to an end, everyone felt fulfilled and joyful. It was a truly enriching experience that brought together the best of both worlds. PaPaZao (趴趴走) is a unique event that allows participants to stay physically active and continuously learn by upgrading their skills.
